On the evening of the 24th October Alan Ridealgh, the Managing Director of Muntons plc presented a cheque to Tim Page, the Chief Executive of the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) charity, for £255. The money was raised by the staff at Muntons for the EAAA after a company raffle.
Muntons plc, the malt manufacturer based in Stowmarket, Suffolk support a number of different charity’s each year in the local area. Alan Ridealgh commented “We are delighted to be able to make this donation to such an important charity within the local area.”
The East Anglian Air Ambulance asked Muntons whether their supporters could visit the Stowmarket site and tour the production facilities. The visitors were shown around the maltings and malted ingredients production areas where the intricacies of the processes were explained by the enthusiastic tour guides and the evening was proclaimed to be a great success. Over twenty of the Air Ambulance guests were given the tour. The charity also gained new benefactors as a result of the evening.
Since its launch in 2000, the East Anglian Air Ambulance has attended over 12,500 lifesaving missions. They treat many people injured in agricultural, industrial and sporting incidents and attend a number of serious road traffic collisions.
