Taking to the field in brand new shirts – Stowmarket Cricket Club
This year Muntons supported the Stowmarket Cricket Club by funding the new match shirts seen here worn by the first team players. Kevin Holland Stowmarket’s first team captain commented “As the club is making huge strides forward at the moment these shirts would give the team a very professional look.” At present the first team are top of Division 4 after playing 11 matches and there are still another 12 matches to go in the season, so let’s hope they can continue their success through to the end of the year.
There is currently a lot of good work happening at the club. The addition of a professional coach from South Africa, James Mokonyama, has meant that the standard of coaching within the club has significantly increased. The club has also re-attained “club mark” status, acquired a brand new bowling machine, and has delivered 120 hours of free coaching into local schools. The club has also found that the average age of the teams is lowering and subsequently has re-introduced the girl’s under 15 side, and a boy’s under 13 side. With great community work happening such as hosting county matches and schools festivals, Stowmarket Cricket Club is well placed to becoming recognised as one of the top clubs in Suffolk.
The headquarters of Muntons plc is based in the county of Suffolk on the outskirts of the market town of Stowmarket, strategically located near to their main raw material, premium quality malting barley. Muntons have just been placed 20th in the top 60 Best Green Companies competition which is run by The Sunday Times.
