MALT EXTRACT SHIFT MANAGER PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
To manage, as part of a shift management team, the cost effective production and packing of product within the following areas of responsibility: Liquid Malt Extract Production, Ultrafilter Production, Liquid Malt Extract Packing (including homebrew canning), Spraydried Production and Packing (including sachet packing) and Band Dried Production and Packing.
To be the first point of contact for all site issues out of office hours.
To manage all personnel, equipment, raw materials and packed goods when on shift.
THE CANDIDATE:
5 years experience in a manufacturing production environment at team leader level or above.
A proactive positive communicator at all levels.
An effective leader who will develop and coach his team to achieve their maximum potential.
The ability to analyse and solve problems with minimum supervision.
Self confidence and initiative to make decisions within the scope of the role.
Ability to deal with performance management issues and to carry out annual Performance and Personal Development Reviews.
HOURS OF WORK:
3 shift / 7 day shift pattern.
Average 37½ hours per week.

PROJECT ENGINEER (3-6 months Temporary Contract) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Proven project engineering background with a broad range of knowledge and experience.
MAIN OBJECTIVES:
To review, plan and implement existing and new projects from initial design through to report, implementation and hand over. To ensure that all projects are executed to within the agreed specification, budget and time scale. The engineer is required to run all aspects of mainly civil projects and may include some mechanical and electrical work. This will be for a variety of different projects from small modifications to larger capital projects. Contractor management from selection, induction and day-to-day monitoring for the projects you are responsible for and when covering for existing Project Engineers.
CURRENT PROJECTS (IDENTIFIED AND APPROVED):
Warehouse flooring - replacement of portions of existing.
External hard standing replacement of existing.
Internal and external floor and drainage replacement.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Generate project briefs for approval of the internal customer.
Compile accurate costs for projects.
Provide project plans.
Produce reports for proposed projects.
Provide regular reports and updates on project progress.
Maintain good financial control of project budget and ensure that the cost control is accurate and can be audited.
Negotiate with suppliers to ensure best price.
Manage contractors to work safely and within agreed specification.
To be able to induct contractors in compliance with above.
Handover completed projects and ensure that all documentation is archived and issued to the end user of the project.
o Manage snagging list and progress the completion within the agreed budgets.
o Manage and report unavoidable extra costs incurred within a project.
o Manage suppliers to an appropriate service level agreement.
o Produce tender documents for projects.
HEALTH & SAFETY:
Ensure projects are carried out safely to protect company employees, contractors and visitors to the site.
All projects should be carried out with regard to all current relevant regulations and standards.
Able to work in accordance with CDM regulations when applicable.
Able to assess method statements and risk assessments to ensure relevance to the work being carried out by the contractors.
Monitor contractors so that they are working safely and in an appropriate manner.
RELEVANT SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Broad knowledge of building/civil works and associated disciplines.
Effective communication with management, employees and external bodies.
Self Confidence and initiative to work with minimum supervision.
Ability to identify and promote solutions to problems and to meet set objectives.
o Good computer skills and knowledge.
o Ability to manage costs and time scales to meet pre-determined budgets and timescales.
o Well organised, flexible and able to contribute to a team environment.
o Proficient in IT systems including Autocad, MS Project.
o Demonstrate good working knowledge of CDM and H&S.
PROFESSIONAL / EDUCATION BACKGROUND:
Qualified to Degree level in a relevant engineering discipline.

MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN THE JOB:
To be part of a team that ensures the production of both home beer and home winemaking kits. Maintaining line performance against production plan, hygiene, safety and Trading Standards requirements at all times whilst embracing a Lean culture and having a can do attitude.
Principle Responsibilities:
Running, optimising, setting, maintaining and cleaning production equipment for both home beer and home wine making kits.
Undertaking activities that include plant set up, maintenance and fault diagnosis.
Ensuring line performance meets production plans.
Applying technical knowledge, mechanical and basic maintenance expertise to optimize plant performance.
Maintaining good housekeeping, GMP and safety standards in production packing and storage areas.
Maintaining Trading Standards requirements.
Monitoring, recording and maintaining stock levels.
Ensuring product is within specification.
Coaching and training other operatives.
THE CANDIDATE:
Mechanically competent with the ability to demonstrate and apply engineering knowledge and basic maintenance expertise.
Ability to demonstrate a technical depth of knowledge and understanding of the home beer and wine production equipment.
The ability to identify the need for and able to generate line Work Instructions
The ability to identify trends in data and identify root cause leading to continuous improvement.
Competent in using computer based recording and maintenance management systems.
Hold a current fork lift licence (desirable)
The ability to work to and follow written procedures
Somebody who embraces a challenge.
The ability to contribute to a team environment
This is a physically active role which will involve lifting and other strenuous activities.
HOURS OF WORK:
Monday to Friday. 2 shift / 5 day pattern. Average 37½ hours per week plus some additional hours as required

MULTI-SKILLED SHIFT ENGINEER (MUNTONS INGREDIENTS) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Proven engineering background with a wide range of electrical and mechanical experience. Food, Beverage or Pharmaceutical experience would be advantageous.
HOURS OF WORK: This is a shift working position covering a 24/7 operation.
MAIN OBJECTIVES: To be part of the Muntons Ingredients engineering team responsible for the maintenance, maximising machine availability and continued efficient running of the mill, malt extract, band drier, spray drier, homebrew and site services. To be responsible for carrying out a range of electrical and mechanical engineering works, including planned maintenance, small projects, installations, breakdown repairs and continuous improvement activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To provide a dynamic and proactive response to engineering breakdowns, in order to maximise production and minimise unplanned plant downtime.
2. To communicate on a daily basis with the Engineering Team to ensure established priorities are dealt with in a co-ordinated approach.
3. To communicate at all times with production and shift managers to ensure priorities are actioned accordingly and to update on the status of plant.
4. To maintain correct health and safety standards at all times, following company policies and procedures, and taking a generally responsible and proactive approach to safety at all times.
5. To carry out plant modifications and improvements as authorised.
6. To respond to all breakdowns in a timely manner and report to engineering and production management of the status.
7. To help train, guide and develop the companys engineering apprentices.
8. To work on small projects and installations as required.
9. To assist the projects team as required.
10. To proactively contribute to and assist with engineering and production improvements, health & safety improvements (including safe working practices and risk assessments), GMP improvements and environmental issues and refurbishments as directed.
11. To undertake existing planned maintenance routines and identify new routines that will maximise equipment availability.
12. To participate in all aspects of maintenance work associated with plant shutdowns in all areas of production.
13. To work flexibly and respond to the changing demands of the work, adapting to new work routines and practices accordingly.
PRINCIPAL SKILLS
1. Good base of fundamental and proven engineering skills.
2. Strong electrical and/or mechanical background ideally with plant in a manufacturing environment.
3. A can do attitude coupled with a desire to make a contribution to the continued efficient running of all MI Production areas.
4. Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
5. A flexible attitude to a range of tasks and work situations.
6. Working knowledge of PLCs and electrical systems would be an advantage.
7.Working knowledge of steam plant and associated equipment is desirable but not essential.
8. A clear communicator with a problem solving/improvement attitude.
