On Monday 28th January, Patsy Murphy from Muntons presented a cheque to Stepping Stones & Stowmarket Area Opportunity Group manager Caroline Davies for £685. The money was raised by the staff of Muntons as part of its annual Christmas draw.
The employees of Muntons in Stowmarket raised a total of £1370 for two local charities. The money raised has been split between Stowmarket District Target Club which is for adults with severe learning and physical disabilities and Stepping Stones & Stowmarket and Area Opportunity Group, which run an inclusive nursery as well as opportunity groups to offer support for children and families with additional needs.
Caroline Davies, the manager at Stepping Stones & Stowmarket Area Opportunity Group commented “We are delighted to receive this cheque from Muntons and will put this towards our current fundraising campaign for new changing room facilities.”
For the first year ever the draw prizes for the Muntons Christmas draw were purchased from Argos and Sainsbury’s using nectar points that the company had accumulated as a result of linking its DHL postage account to the nectar point scheme. Prizes purchased for the draw included premium items such as an Apple ipad, Kindle Fire and an Apple ipod.
