The staff at Muntons, the Stowmarket based malt and malted ingredient manufacturer have just raised a total of £346 in a Christmas fundraising event.
This year, rather than simply buying Christmas lunch in their canteen at the price charged by Churchill catering, who run their canteen, the company instead decided to pay for Christmas lunch, brunch and rolls for their shift workers and ask for a donation to be made to Suffolk Mind, a very worthwhile charity.
The staff from Churchill catering worked tirelessly to ensure that the three events were perfect. With a ten item Christmas brunch one day, a delicious two course meal the next and mouth-watering turkey, stuffing and cranberry Christmas rolls for the shift workers who were unable to make the daytime sittings.
Suffolk Mind have recently undertaken several very successful training sessions at Muntons during the mental health wellbeing month, designed to raise awareness of mental health issues and help staff to understand, appreciate and cope with the stresses that modern life can bring.
Mary Narey, HR advisor at Muntons commented: “The feedback we received from our staff following the Suffolk Mind mental health awareness sessions was exceptionally positive. The idea of raising money for Suffolk Mind was therefore an easy one to make, particularly in this innovative way.”
Laura Bullard, External Relationships Coordinator for Suffolk Mind said: ““We are extremely grateful for this generous donation. This money will go towards helping us to achieve our mission of making Suffolk the best place in the world for talking about and taking care of mental health.”
