At last – whole grain malted ingredients!
The goodness of whole grains has been much publicised in recent years but in general whole grains are associated with unprocessed wheat, barley, oats, rye and so on – base cereals. Of course flours made from these cereals are also whole grains, containing the same goodness as the original grain itself.
Now, Muntons Malted Ingredients have available a wide range of tasty malt flours, kibbles and flakes that offer the same whole grain goodness – and can be included on product labels as part of the total whole grain percentage. How so?
The Whole Grain Council, based in Boston Massachusetts, have determined that Muntons ranges of white malt flours; their ranges of kibbled malts and their malted cereal flakes can all be offered as whole grain products.
This is great news for the many companies who include these malted ingredients in their products. Now, not only will they benefit from the tasty malt flavour and the natural sweetness and great texture that these ingredients bring, but they can also promote the extra whole grains goodness that they bring as well.
More information about whole grains and the benefits they bring can be found on the Whole Grains website: www.wholegrainscouncil.org.
